From idea to production in five clear stages
A structured process used on every part we develop, with you involved at every step.
Start at any stage
You do not need to start at the beginning. Tell us where your project is and we will pick it up from there.
I have an idea
We take it all the way, from requirements to finished parts.
I have a sketch or old part
We turn it into proper CAD, then verify and manufacture it.
I have CAD or drawings
We review it for manufacture, verify the fit and make it.
I need parts made
We quote, manufacture, check quality and deliver.
Discover
We start by understanding what you are trying to achieve: what the part or product has to do, where it will be used, how many you need, your budget and your timeline. If you need an NDA, we sign it before you share anything.
You get
- A clear brief we both agree on
- Honest advice on the best approach
- An NDA on request
Design
Our engineers create the CAD design, built around the process that will make it, whether that is fabrication, composites or machining. We share the design with you and refine it together.
You get
- 3D CAD models and renders
- Design reviews with our engineers
- A design built for manufacture
Verify
Before money goes into production, we 3D print test parts in house so you can check fit, clearances and function against the real thing. Changes are quick and cheap at this stage.
You get
- Printed test parts to hold and fit
- Design changes made quickly
- Sign-off before production
Manufacture
Fabrication, welding and composites are done in our own workshop. Machined parts are made by our trusted local or overseas partners, chosen to suit the part, the quantity and the timeline.
You get
- The right process for each part
- Local or overseas options compared
- One team managing it all
Deliver
Parts are checked against the design before they reach you. If you need ongoing supply, spares or a next version, we keep everything on file and ready to go.
You get
- Quality checked parts
- Files and drawings kept on record
- Ongoing supply and reorders
Common questions
Is there a minimum order?
No. We take on one-off parts, prototypes and production runs. Larger quantities generally bring the cost per part down, and we will show you where those price breaks are.
How long does a project take?
It depends on complexity and quantity. Simple fabricated parts can be turned around quickly, while a new product from scratch takes longer. We give you a timeline with every quote.
How do you price work?
Design work is usually quoted per stage, and manufacturing per part or per batch. You will see the price before any work starts.
Where are you based?
Our workshop is in Lilydale, Victoria, and we work with clients across Australia.
